Approach

Emily is trained in Gestalt counselling - an inclusive approach that focuses on what is being experienced in the counselling session and in your life as a whole.

This approach:

  • aims to listen to you non-judgmentally and respond with honesty
  • offers practical ways of problem-solving
  • helps you to develop a deeper awareness and understanding of the different parts of yourself and the patterns you experience in your life
  • focuses on your present needs in a supportive and challenging environment
  • explores new approaches to difficult issues

Emily's work also integrates aspects of cognitive behavioural therapy; family systems therapy and person centred counselling.

Emily works in accordance with the code of ethics of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists of which she is a member. She receives regular supervision from a UKCP registered psychotherapist in order to maintain a high standard of practice.
